Volunteer
Social support systems are crucial to the health and well-being of any community. As a volunteer for Caught Up, you will become an integral part of the support system we provide to our mentees, creating impactful relationships in your community while being an active resource for Detroit’s young people seeking reassurance and guidance.
Tutors
Duties & Responsibilities:

Tutors will act as a role-model for mentees
-
Attend weekly team meetings and collaborate effectively with parents and Caught Up mentors to enhance student performance and address individual student needs.

Regularly tracks mentee grades and recognizes the relationship between social-emotional learning and academic performance; demonstrate the ability to teach the "whole child"
Mentors

Be relatable to youth and accepting of personal differences in lifestyle and values

Be respectful of the mentee’s right to self-determination and independence

Communicate with mentees on a regular basis by checking in with them and on their schoolwork
Administrative Support
Caught Up is always seeking volunteers to support administrative work in several specific areas. Certain opportunities may be available remotely.
Administrative Assistant

Perform basic bookkeeping tasks including bill paying, check cutting, mailing checks, making deposits, invoicing

Purchase office supplies and keep storage room stocked and organized
-
Prepare for Board of Directors meetings by printing agendas, minutes, and other documents

Maintain organizational files and documents

Serve as first point of contact for the organization

Manage donor database
-
Perform general administrative support
Special Events Team

Assist with scheduling field trips

Assist with coordination of event logistics
Grant Management Team

Track grants using Instrumentl grant management tools

Grant writing experience is a plus
Communications Team

Assist with print and electronic newsletters

Coordinate website updates

Assist with donor communications, including appeal and thank you letters

Coordinate bulk mailings

Maintain organizational archives

Take on additional tasks as directed by the Executive and Associate Directors
